Katherine studied Fine Arts at Dawson College, where art history electives ultimately piqued her interest most and led her to pursue a degree in art history at Concordia University. During her undergraduate years, Katherine participated in a Study Abroad program, in which she attended La Sorbonne in Paris. Upon receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Katherine completed two internships in Denver, Colorado. One position was at The Denver Art Museum in the curatorial sector of the Modern and Contemporary art department, the other in Research and Collections at The Clyfford Still Museum, prior to its opening to the public. The large Clyfford Still collection and archives, that had been untouched for over thirty years, inspired Katherine to pursue a Master’s degree at Université de Montréal, where her area of research focused on Still’s transformation from the figurative to the abstract.

Prior to joining Cowley Abbott in 2016, Katherine’s professional experience includes three years at a Montreal auction house as a cataloguer of fine and decorative arts. In this position she examined a multitude of objects including Canadian and international art, antique European furniture, fine silver and others.  Katherine also co-authored a published catalogue of an important Canadian private art collection, where her texts focused largely on Post-war Canadian and American abstract painting. Katherine has worked at Cowley Abbott as an Art Specialist since 2016, and since 2020 as the Quebec Representative for the firm. She has been a certified personal property appraiser since 2014, and certified with the ISA since 2020.

Katherine is fluent in English and French.
